Who We Are
The Upliftment Foundation for Sikhs (UFS) is a dedicated non-profit organization devoted to uplifting and empowering the Sikh community through a multi-faceted approach that includes education, healthcare, and sustainable employment opportunities.
Our mission is rooted in the Sikh principle of "Sikh nu Sikh di baah farni chahidi hai," which emphasizes the responsibility of Sikhs to support and uplift one another, particularly those in need.
Established on July 14, 2022, UFS was born out of a deep sense of purpose and compassion following a heartbreaking incident where a young Sikh boy tragically ended his life due to the stress of financial losses.
This devastating event served as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by many in the community and became the driving force behind the creation of this foundation. We aim to ensure that no Sikh ever feels so alone or helpless due to financial hardship.
At UFS, we focus on providing
Education: Scholarships, skill-building programs, and resources to help Sikhs access quality education and build a brighter future.
Healthcare: Financial and logistical support for medical treatment, ensuring that no one is deprived of necessary care due to a lack of resources.
Employment Opportunities:Training, job placement, and entrepreneurial support to help individuals become self-reliant and build sustainable livelihoods.
Our vision extends beyond offering temporary relief; we strive to create a foundation for long-term empowerment and self-sufficiency within the Sikh community. UFS believes that through collective effort, empathy, and action, we can foster a thriving community where no one is left behind.
Together, let us stand strong in our commitment to compassion, service, and upliftment. Join us in making a difference.
Why only Sikhs?
Sikhs are a micro-minority community with a unique identity and rich heritage, but they often face challenges that go unnoticed or unaddressed due to their smaller population. Despite their significant contributions to society and their values of selfless service, resilience, and equality, there are relatively few organizations that focus exclusively on supporting the Sikh community.
At Upliftment Foundation for Sikhs (UFS), we firmly believe in the power of focusing our efforts where they are most needed. By dedicating our resources and energy to the Sikh community, we aim to address the specific challenges faced by Sikhs, whether it’s access to education, healthcare, or employment opportunities.
Our decision to focus solely on Sikhs stems from a sense of responsibility towards our larger family. The principle of "Sikh nu Sikh di baah farni chahidi hai" guides our mission, emphasizing that Sikhs have a duty to support and uplift one another, especially those who are struggling. We believe that by strengthening our own community, we can build a foundation for greater collective growth and ensure that no Sikh is left behind.
With limited resources, it becomes even more critical to channel our efforts strategically for maximum impact. By focusing exclusively on Sikhs, we can create tailored programs and solutions that address the unique cultural, social, and economic challenges faced by our community. This focus ensures that every initiative we undertake directly benefits those who need it most, fostering self-reliance, resilience, and prosperity among Sikhs worldwide.
Our mission is not to exclude others but to prioritize the needs of our community, which often go underserved. By empowering Sikhs, we aim to build a stronger, self-sufficient community that can continue its legacy of contributing positively to society at large. Together, we can create a ripple effect of support and compassion that extends far beyond our immediate efforts.

At UFS, our mission is to empower individuals by providing targeted support in three key areas:
Please note that we do not transfer money to any individual's personal account. However we fund the institute that is providing service. For example if it is a case of medical help, we will transfer funds to the account of hospital. In case of education, funds are transferred to the institute that is providing education. For marriage, the funds gets transferred to the caterer or goods are bought and supplied to needy family.
